A Message for Prospective Applicants

Thank you for your interest in the Microsurgery Fellowship at Stanford. We offer a comprehensive program, which is intended to train world class microsurgeons. Fellows are exposed to all areas of microsurgery including breast reconstruction, head & neck, extremity, hand, replantation, peripheral nerve, etc. We perform a variety of flaps, including D.I.E.P., S.I.E.A., S.G.A.P., T.R.A.M., A.L.T., fibula, D.C.I.A., parascapular, radial forearm, etc. Fellows with a valid California medical license are eligible for Clinical Instructor privileges and Junior Attending responsibilities. Opportunities for clinical and basic research are also available depending upon the applicant’s interest.

Applications for the 2009-2010 Fellowship year will be accepted starting May 1st, 2008 to August 1st, 2008. Interviews are typically held in October or November. Completion of an accredited Plastic Surgery Residency program is required prior to start of the fellowship. One candidate is accepted to the fellowship program per year.
