San Francisco is also a short drive away, and affords a thriving night-life, restaurants, the opera, symphony, Fisherman’s Wharf, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Golden Gate Park.

Opportunities for winter sports including snow skiing is also within a 3-hour drive.
