Facilities

The Stanford University School of Medicine is internationally known for outstanding medical practice and high-quality patient care. Its facilities are among the best in the world. Recently, Stanford Hospital and Clinics was recognized by U.S. News & World Report (July 23, 2001 issue) as one of "America's Best Hospitals," ranking tenth in the nation.

Stanford University Medical Center, which includes Stanford Hospital & Clinics , the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital , and two other affiliated teaching hospitals, was ranked number 12 in the nation for federal research awards that help scientists find new medical discoveries. Libraries in the Medical Center contain scientifically based health information for researchers, clinicians, students and the public.

The Plastic Surgery Division maintains nationally recognized Specialty Clinics for adults at Stanford Hospital & Clinics (Blake Wilbur Clinic) and children at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital (Clinic F) that bring together interdisciplinary teams of physicians, nurses and health care professionals to address complex and difficult problems. Our entire medical staff works closely with specialized teams of medical providers in order to ensure that patients receive thorough diagnoses and effective treatments that are tailored to their specific medical needs.

Last year, Stanford and Packard plastic surgeons performed 3,500 complex plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures in the hospital's 21 operating rooms, which are open 24 hours per day and are equipped with the most advanced medical technology available.

These resources help us deliver excellent medical care to patients and support to their families .
