Curriculum Vitae
Dr. Gordon Lee is currently the Director of Microsurgery at Stanford University. He also serves as the Associate Program Director of the Stanford Plastic Surgery Residency Program, and directs the fellowship in microsurgery at Stanford.
Dr. Lee completed his undergraduate education at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and graduated magna cum laude. Following this, he attended medical school here at Stanford. He then completed a residency in General Surgery/Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at UCLA Medical Center. After residency, Dr. Lee was a Clinical Specialist and completed an advanced microsurgery and reconstructive plastic surgery fellowship in the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He is currently Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford University Medical Center and the Lucile Salter Packard Children's Hospital.
His research interests include novel therapeutic modalities to minimize scarring, and novel techniques in microsurgical reconstruction.
Dr. Lee is Board Certified by the America Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS), the American Society for Reconstructive Microsurgery (ASRM), and the American Medical Association (AMA).
Dr. Lee’s main surgical interests are in aesthetic & reconstructive surgery of the breast, face, eyes, nose, and abdomen. He is an expert in microsurgical reconstruction utilizing the latest techniques in free tissue transfer (aka “free flaps”) such as TRAM flaps & perforator flaps (DIEP, SGAP, SIEA, ALT, etc.). He also performs body contouring procedures and liposuction.
