Stanford Plastic Surgery Marks 60th Anniversary and 50th Anniversary of Zedplast
The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Stanford held its 60th anniversary celebration alongside the 50th anniversary of Zedplast, the Stanford Plastic Surgery Alumni Association, from September 5–7, 2025. The three-day event included receptions, panel discussions, campus tours, and a gala dinner.

Fabiana Aellos Honored with Postdoc Champion: Community Impact Award
The Stanford Department of Surgery is proud to share that Fabiana Aellos, a postdoctoral scholar in the Helms Lab and co-director of the STaRS (Stanford Summer Training in Academic Research) Program, has been selected as a recipient of the Postdoc Champion: Community Impact Award by the Stanford Office of Postdoctoral Affairs.

David C. Fogarty to Receive 2025 Noordhoff Award
The concept of sharing one's gifts, as a volunteer surgeon, was cultivated during his time at Stanford University. Dr. Fogarty is the founder of Interplast West Virginia. During his private practice career, he participated in 118 international mission trips, working in more than ten countries.

Surgery Receives ACS Surgical Adhesions Improvement Project Grant
Drs. Michael Longaker, Eric Appel, Dan Delitto, and Deshka Foster have received a grant from the American College of Surgeons to fund the next phase in an ongoing collaborative project, which explores the application of a sustained release anti-JUN therapeutic for the prevention of post-operative abdominal adhesion formation.
