Welcome to Stanford Hand Surgery's Fellowship Program

Letter From the Program Directors

Thank you for your interest in our Hand and Upper Limb Surgical Fellowship!  Our fellowship is based on a unique collaboration between the Hand and Upper Limb units of the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery and our 10 full time faculty.  Our faculty collectively has the training and experience in ALL aspects of hand surgical and comprehensive care.  Our faculty provides the most cutting edge care involving upper limb fractures and high energy trauma, sports injuries, degenerative pathologies, nerve injuries, congenital and pediatric problems, and soft tissue pathology.  Along with the other more common techniques, we regularly use microsurgical and arthroscopic techniques in our practices and in the training of our fellows.

Our fellowship is designed to have 2 orthopedic-trained and 1 plastics-trained fellows per year.  This further embodies our collaborative spirit between the two disciplines as it fosters interdisciplinary learning and teaching for all of the members of our hand team.

On behalf of the entire faculty we appreciate your interest in Stanford and look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Jeffrey Yao, MD
Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery

Catherine Curtin, MD
Professor, Division of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery
