INSIDE 4th Triennial International Consensus Meeting on Robin sequence

April 22, 2025

Dr. HyeRan Choo, Director of the Stanford Orthodontic Airway Plate (SOAP) Program, was invited to present at the 4th Triennial International Consensus Meeting on Robin sequence held in Paris, France from April 3-5, 2025. The triennial gathering brought together international experts to advance the understanding and treatment of Pierre Robin Sequence through collaborative dialogue and shared research.

Dr. Choo gave two talks at the meeting. The first, titled “The Stanford Orthodontic Airway Plate Treatment Program (SOAP): Facial skeleton and upper airway growth in infants with Robin sequence,” presented longitudinal findings on craniofacial development in infants treated through the SOAP protocol. The second talk, “Evolution of the Stanford Orthodontic Airway Plate Treatment Program (SOAP) in the United States,” highlighted the adaptation and advancement of German treatment protocols within the U.S. healthcare system, using Stanford’s experience as a model.

Management protocols for patients with Pierre Robin Sequence vary widely across medical centers worldwide. To advance how the condition is diagnosed, treated, and studied, international experts convene every three years at the Robin Sequence Consensus Meeting to share new research, clinical insights, and collaborative approaches.
