Dr. Dung Nguyen Inducted as Honorary Faculty at Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy

On February 26, 2025, during a mission trip to Hue, Vietnam, Dr. Dung Nguyen was inducted as an honorary faculty member into the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy with the title of Visiting Professor. The recognition celebrates her decade-long contributions to advancing medical training, scientific research, and healthcare in Hue.  

Dr. Nguyen’s visit was part of the ReSurge International/World Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (WSRM) mission trip to Hue, Vietnam. The trip focused on providing advanced microsurgical care, including breast reconstruction, lower extremity reconstruction, lymphedema, and brachial plexus injury repair. This mission marked the inaugural collaboration between ReSurge and WSRM which brought together world leaders in microsurgery to teach and treat patients in underserved communities.

The mission trip took place from February 22, 2025 - February 26, 2025. The team included Stanford faculty Dr. Dung Nguyen, Stanford alumnus Dr. Peter Deptula, Laub Fellow and Stanford resident Dr. Meewon Park, and international surgeons from the United States, Korea, Taiwan, and Spain.
