June 19, 2025
Dr. Dung Nguyen was recently invited to deliver the Keynote Scientist Medal Award Lecture in Biomaterials and Biodevices at the Advanced Materials World Congress (AMWC), an international scientific conference held annually in Stockholm, Sweden May 26-28, 2025. The Scientist Medal Award recognizes the worthy contributions of scientists working in the sphere of materials science, engineering & technology
Her keynote presentation focused on her research and clinical application of nanofibrillar collagen scaffolds for the prevention and treatment of lymphedema. The 2025 AMWC marked the 15th anniversary of the International Association of Advanced Materials (IAAM), which is accredited by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
This year’s congress brought together leading scientists from around the world to discuss innovations in materials science across diverse fields, including energy, healthcare, environmental sustainability, regulatory frameworks, and international cooperation to address global challenges. Speakers were selected through a rigorous peer-review process.
While in Stockholm, Dr. Nguyen also visited the birthplace of the Nobel Prize and participated in IAAM’s strategic discussions on advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with a focus on sustainability, climate action, renewable energy, material innovation, and global collaboration.
