Stanford and CSPS Collaborate for 2025 West Coast Cadaver Lab

On March 29, 2025, Stanford Plastic Surgery hosted the West Coast Cadaver Lab in collaboration with the California Society of Plastic Surgeons. Held at Stanford’s Anatomy Lab, the event brought together leading experts in microsurgery, neurosurgery, and neurology from across California and beyond for a premier hands-on educational experience.

The workshop featured comprehensive flap and anatomical dissections spanning the entire body, with participation from top institutions, including:

  • Stanford University
  • University of Southern California
  • University of California, San Francisco
  • University of California, Irvine
  • University of California, Los Angeles
  • University of California, Davis
  • University of California, San Diego
  • Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
  • The Buncke Clinic
     

Key highlights included:

  • Robotic-assisted microsurgery in perfused cadavers
  • Use of the 3D exoscope to enhance dissection precision
  • A unique focus on the brain lymphatic system, featuring in-depth dissections of the brain and deep cervical lymph nodes, in collaboration with neurosurgery and neurology expert

As the host site, Stanford Plastic Surgery contributed faculty, fellows, residents, and administrative staff to support this collaborative, high-impact educational effort. The event was also supported by MMI.
