Amputation Reconstruction at Stanford

Mission

To provide comprehensive, integrated, and innovative treatment to maximize function for patients with any level of upper or lower extremity amputation or limb loss.

Our Philosophy

At the Stanford Amputation Reconstruction Clinic, we aim to utilize cutting-edge reconstructive techniques to help optimize function for individuals with upper or lower extremity amputation. Amputations may occur as a result of trauma, infection, vascular disease, malignancy, or numerous other reasons. Our goals are to prevent and treat pain, facilitate prosthesis use, and restore function. We take an individualized approach to meet each patient’s unique goals and concerns, whether a single digit amputation, an above knee amputation, a forequarter amputation, or anything in between.

We work in a multidisciplinary setting with leaders of collaborating fields such as Orthopaedic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Neurology, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Prosthetics, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy to provide comprehensive coordinated care.
