HyeRan Choo Appointed Director of SOAP
Dr. HyeRan Choo, DDS, DMD, MS, has been appointed as the inaugural director of the Stanford Orthodontic Airway Plate Treatment Program for Pierre Robin Sequence (SOAP for PRS), effective November 2024. This groundbreaking program at Stanford Medicine Children’s Health is the first in the nation to treat neonates with Pierre Robin Sequence non-surgically using Orthodontic Airway Plates (OAP).

Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery (PWRS): A Transformative Journey at Stanford
Stanford Plastic Surgery recently hosted eight women surgeons from the Pioneering Women in Reconstructive Surgery (PWRS) program. PWRS is a collaborative effort between non-profit ReSurge International and skincare company SkinCeuticals. The program is committed to advancing the careers of first-generation female reconstructive surgeons in low-income countries.

Robert Chase, former chair of surgery and anatomy, dies at 101
Chase founded a hand surgery division at Stanford Medicine, curated anatomy image collections, oversaw medical examinations and helped restore the limbs of people around the world.
